The Cookie Cutter: It's a Paris Party

In case you couldn't tell, I like planning parties.  I suppose that may be an understatement.  I enjoy pulling everything all together.  I love creating the unexpected details.  It's no wonder that I find myself planning two Bridal Showers at work this summer.
The first was for a woman who will be married around the end of September.  In my plight to stealthily extract information about her wedding colors, themes, likes and dislikes during normal day-to-day conversation, she told me they would be traveling to Italy, Paris and then Portugal during their honeymoon.  She then told me a cute story about a visit to Paris with friends and her refusal to climb the Eiffel Tower because her dream was to do that with her future husband.  She will finally climb it on their honeymoon.

When I heard this bit of information, I immediately thought of incorporating Paris as part of the shower.  It was different and meaningful but who knew that party supply stores weren't on the forefront of party trends?  I had a hard time finding ANYTHING Paris or Eiffel Tower related at retail stores.  Amazon.com had a lot of Paris party ware but with a tight budget and timeline, it just wasn't a feasible option.  I settled on an Eiffel Tower cookie cutter from The Cookie Cutter Company and went from there.  (and yes, that website is dangerous!)

I used the recipe and tutorial from Sweet Sugarbelle.  I first saw her posts on Pinterest and then a friend of mine embarked on a cookie business and I was inspired to try my hand a decorated sugar cookies as well.  I made three cookie shapes.  Hearts, Wedding Cakes and Eiffel Towers.  Here is the result... not bad for my second try at Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing!
