Join Me for a Cause- Stop The Clot NYC

This year is a special one.  I am enjoying life as a new Momma after a long battle with infertility and my husband and I will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary in September.  I'm also celebrating survival!  This coming June marks ONE YEAR since I was diagnosed with Bilateral Pulmonary Embolisms (PE) at 24 weeks pregnant and this coming October marks ONE YEAR since I gave birth and survived Stage 3 Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH).  Not only am I alive to see my precious miracle baby turn one, but I am returning to 5Ks to raise awareness for the conditions that nearly cost us our lives.  My participation is largely symbolic; I am telling those menacing PE and PPH complications that they will not hold me back no matter how slow I walk this 5K course.  I am still here.  I am a survivor.

Join me!  Whether you are an avid runner or a leisure walker, walk with me in New York City on June 11th for the National Blood Clot Alliance's Stop The Clot campaign!  I'll be in the back of the pack with the stroller but I'll be walking the course nonetheless.  The 2016 Stop The Clot 5K is in memory of a man named Michael Scott. While I didn't know him personally, his story hits home after everything we've been through.  Michael walked around for 6 months with a DVT that led to a PE and ultimately cost him his life.   We all need to know the risks and the signs.

If you can't join us in NYC for the event, please consider donating to my team to raise funds for the National Blood Clot Alliance's Stop The Clot campaign. Your support means so much!
