Maternal Mental Health

The probability of a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMAD) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) developing is exponentially greater for both parents following birth trauma. 

Many new mothers have heard about postpartum depression, but may not realize their individual symptoms align more with postpartum anxiety or even PTSD. They may also not be aware that these symptoms can develop anytime during the first year... or even years later in the case of PTSD.
